Gig and Duke
Our Reba/Ruben babies born 12-14-05, they live in Colorado and as you can see have a wonderful loved life (2 poodles are twice the fun!!) Here’s an update from mom Lauren
Hi Barb
I just wandered onto your site and had such a fun time looking at the puppy photos of Gigs and Dukey, so I thought I’d send you some recent photos. They’re both doing great and enjoying the company of their new “little” brother–an 11 year old rescue Dachshund (also from Michigan), Jack. Gigs is still the bossy one and Dukey is still my sweet boy. He hates conflict and will avoid it at all costs. But that doesn’t stop him from climbing on the kitchen counter if need be to get more food. He’s a pretty simple-needs dog: love him, feed him, snuggle in bed with him. He’s the hugger–will literally lean into you to hug. Gigs is more of the kissy type. Doesn’t want to be too constricted (ie, no hugging) but will gladly shove her tongue in your mouth when you’re not paying attention. She’s the watchdog, and I suspect sleeps with one eye open at all times, while Duke pretty much goes comatose for ten hour stretches each night. Gigs in my athlete. Duke is all about comfort and not over-exerting himself (unless there’s food at stake). Duke and Jack are best pals and they curl up together whenever we leave home. Gigs and Duke love their weekly hikes in the Rockies (Jack prefers to be carried), and all of them love road trips too. They’re quite good “hotel dogs.” They’re also both great at our annual Halloween party, which involves a lot of kids and adults. Gigs sits on the sidelines and just watches the action, but Duke gets in there and dances with the guests. During one party, I remember looking out at the living room from the kitchen and seeing a conga line dance past. Right in the middle of the dance line was Dukey, with his paws on Clare’s shoulders, and someone else’s hands on Duke’s shoulders. I thought I might wet my pants right then and there.
Well, that’s the news on Reba and Ruben’s daughter and son. We love them dearly!
Be well,
Lauren
So fun to hear about our babies!! Nice selection of photo’s too!
We hit 500 face book fans!! PAMPERED POODLES 4u the comments are fun and every so often their is a lively exchange about parti poodles (those show people who think their SOLID color are SPECIAL!) MOST of us think ALL poodles are special no matter WHAT color they are

I love my babies more every day, they are just so good. Having 10 puppies upstairs should be crazy but it really isn’t. They play outside (I’m a little concerned about all the pine needles, pine cones, leaves, sticks and acorns they eat but can’t really stop them!!) come in and nap then go back out. RARELY does anybody pee inside. Tom was ice fishing with some guys yesterday and the wife brought the kids to fish with dad awhile. When the kids got cold they came inside to see the pups, I was so proud of all the babies, they were all happy to meet the new people but still very polite (very little jumping and biting)! The people couldn’t believe how calm they were for their age!
We had a successful breeding this morning Lexie and Jack babies due April 10. We won’t know for awhile if we actually have babies just have to wait and see. Jack can go home tomorrow, his kids will be glad
