Kudos in his new home in Georgia!
We’re doing great. He was pretty shook up and shy last night – wanted lots of petting (which I’ll gladly give!); his favorite first spot was underneath the kitchen table where he could see everything going on but felt safe. We tried taking him to the backyard to go potty when we got home from the airport but there was lots of noise he wasn’t crazy about – people running lawnmowers, people gardening on either side of us and making some sudden noises. And of course everyone in the neighborhood wanted to meet him the minute we pulled him out of the truck. When we brought him in the house where we could control the sudden noises he did much much better. He did great last night – only one little whine at about 2:30am when he needed to take care of some business.
He’s much more relaxed today. We’ve seen the tail high in the air, he’s eating, he likes to trot back and forth between Jim and I to alternate petting. He’s really opening up today. Today, we’re mainly working on getting him comfortable with his new surroundings and getting him comfortable with the leash. He is not a fan of the leash, so am just hooking one on him and letting him walk around w/o me on the other end to help him know it’s nothing to be scared of. He’s also getting used to the backyard and all the noises – neighbor dogs, geese, ducks, lawnmowers, etc. We’ve been sitting calmly in the backyard – it’s an absolutely beautiful day here! Oh – and we’re still working on a name. We’re down to a handful that we’re trying out to see which one fits best. He has not yet met Parker or our cat – we’ll introduce the two dogs tonight.
Barb, thank you so much again for him. He is just so beautiful and sooo sweet. The first thing my best friend commented on were his sweet eyes! He is such a precious gift!
Hopefully these pics come thru – if not, let me know. I’m sending them from my Apple (love it for personal use) but sometimes I have to send them on my work laptop so they show up as file attachments.
Thanks!
Carol
LOVE hearing these great reports and looking forward to photo’s and updates!! Got some wonderful photo’s of brother Nips/Domino too. Su-Yun and I work for the same company (she in New Jersey, I’m in Michigan) and we chat on and off all day via the inter-company chat called “Q” she is adding one of the black/tan phantom boys to her family (poor little Newdy the Yorkie is not much of a playmate for Domino) she will have a stunning trio!! She already gets lots of comments about her Domino! Harlee and I really enjoyed the day! Couple of hours with Trisha and the puppies and some shopping (today we bought her fuchsia sandals with big pink gems)! Today’s movie with the pups 10 days old CLICK HERE
